The Paleo(s) ®Trend
Paleo lifestyle is not a trend - it's a conclusion!
Over millions of years, we humans have evolved into what we are today. Our genes will be essentially the same many thousands of years from now, as those of our prehistoric ancestors. At least 99% of our genetic inheritance is believed to be consistent with that of Homo erectus. Biologically and genetically we are still are Stone Age people! Some of you may already know abaout the Paleo Lifestyle which describes a lifestyle based on this theory.
According to this philosophy, we should stick to food that we are genetically optimized for (meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, nuts, honey, etc.) and dispense with food that came up in the last 10,000 years (milk, grain, bread, etc.) as humanity settled down, and as more food for more people was needed. Of course, our biological "engine" runs even with modern food, but less effectively and not without considerable side effects. Even today, this is believed to be the reason why a significant proportion of Asian populations do not tolerate cow's milk.
The PaleoBarferoots® are a logical consequence of this philosophy! Our feet are the result of evolution too. The feet have, compressed in a very small space, many bones, ligaments, cartilage and tendons. In addition, many major body nerves end in our soles, waiting to receiving stimuli such as heat, cold, moisture, etc., and relay this information back into the body. The biomechanics and sensory network of our feet are designed to cushion and balance, reacting in response to different natural surfaces, soils and conditions. Shoes and flat, hard surfaces interfere with this ability.
Would you want to wear gloves all day long?
Under natural (barefoot) conditions your feet receive important information such as warning signals, temperatures and other stimuli about environmental conditions. A multitude of body nerves end in our soles and continuously transmit that stimuli back into the body. The less contact between our feet and the ground there is, the more indistinct and incomplete theses signals are. That's why many recognized health teachings start first with the feet.
If we translate the Paleo diet to the principles of biomechanics, completely bare feet would be the result. However, it is often much safer of course to cover the bare feet with PaleoBarferoots®. Currently, only they offer the ability to extend the barefoot contact radius as significantly. In addition, they ensure a completely safe and relaxed approach to traveling over unfamiliar or obscured natural soils on land and under water - without distancing you from the important stimuli for the soles of your feet !
German documentary "The Stone Age Recipe":
We would also like to recommend a TV documentary, which would make it easier to understand the "Paleo Lifestyle" - which basically means to return to a nutrition, exercise and fitness lifestyle as it was in the stone age. The below video compares our millions of years of physical programming with the lifestyle of "civilized" society and comes to some surprising findings. Our lifestyle and diet may be making us sick and depressed! One important part of the documentary particularly revolves around our feet. Their structure is still equivalent to that of our ancestors, and is not suitable for flat, hard surfaces, padded shoes with support and permanent sensory underload. This results in deformities of the feet, spinal problems, poor posture, and the lack of stimulation by substrate and temperature differences.
This German documentary was the first of its kind that dared to explore the subject of "civilization diseases " which are so widespread and various: Weight problems, diabetes (diabetes), cancer, cardiovascular disease, allergies, food intolerances, burn-out, concentration problems, ADS, ADHS and many more. A whole series of recognized scholars and activists present their opinions. They go on to illuminate many perspectives regarding our so called "civilization diseases" and draw conclusions about our heritage and todays diverse lifestyles.
In particular our "civilized" nutrition plays a major role in e discussion. Please take the time to watch this comprehensive documentary ... Afterwards you'll sit back and think about your own lifestyle (as was the case for us)... and perhaps you even will start to change your own way of living a little. Unfortunately this documentary is not available in English yet. We are sure however that sooner or later it also will also be available in your language.
